Secret Kitchen Story
Vic Leadbeater runs The Secret Kitchen Cafe Ltd, taking over from Marsha. We set up in 2011 with the aim of feeding local people good food.
The Secret Kitchen café was set up in 2011 by Marsha because there was nowhere to have a decent cuppa in Sneinton. With a loan of £1000 she set up a café space at St Christopher's Church Hall in Sneinton. Cooking just one soup, one main and a dessert each day, she was an original 'pop-up' person! She saw that people wanted affordable, freshly made food that they could enjoy with other people, and this limited menu approach allowed here to easily run a café space without high costs and without wasting good food.
She started to add on a monthly social evening in Sneinton which proved popular. Several years down the line she went on to oversee a funded project called Family Café which was again located in Sneinton. Towards the end of the Family Café project Victoria Leadbeater came on board as the new project worker for Secret Kitchen. Marsha is going off to promote her Super Kitchen project and Vic is running Secret Kitchen from day to day.
Secret Kitchen has carried on the baton running social evenings and being a pioneer of the Super Kitchen model. Super Kitchens are starting to appear across Nottingham City and beyond....
We now specialise in bespoke vegetarian catering and surplus cook and eat lessons...
